We are now in our 3rd year running our Bedding Plant Sale.
Together with Lions from Burntwood (who started the project several years ago)
and Walsall who have participated for the last 4 years we distributed 20000
brochures throughout the areas that we cover. This year also saw the
introduction of our website that gave our customers the ability to both order
and pay online, we plan to further enhance this for next year’s project.
In Kingswinford and Stourbridge we distributed together with many of
our friends an increased number of 8000 brochures concentrating on the areas
that we cover with our Christmas Sleigh collections. Booklets were also handed
out at various fundraising activities in the lead up to the delivery of plants
on Saturday 18th May. Between the 3 Clubs we achieved orders in excess of £17,000.
Kingswinford & Stourbridge Lion’s would like to thank everyone who
placed orders with us this year and with sales of just over £6000 we have been
able to raise in excess of £1700 that will allow us to further help others less
fortunate than ourselves
The weekend of the plant distribution saw deliveries from the nursery
arrive early on Saturday at the unit on Pensnett trading estate that was kindly
loaned to us by LCP Properties. Nearly 40 Lions, friends and helpers were on
hand from 8.00am on Saturday to pick, check, pack and load over 150 orders into
4 vans that each undertook 2 deliveries to distributed the plants to our
customers.
We hope that everyone who ordered plants received them in good
condition and appreciate the general quality. The same nursery has been
supplying the plants for many years and the feedback we get is of the highest
order. However as with any project of this size errors can happen and it is our
